Web tool helps GPs and nurses prepare for COPD strategy

A web-based resource to help GPs and nurses prepare for the forthcoming COPD national strategy has been launched by the General Practice Airways Group (GPIAG).
First Steps will include of a series of quick tips to help in the management of COPD
The resource, called First Steps, will consist of a self-assessment knowledge test, a practice assessment tool and a series of quick tips to help in the management of COPD.
Judith Lawrence, lead author and an advanced nurse practitioner in North Shields, Tyne and Wear, said: ‘It is essential that all clinical involved in the care of COPD patients have the skills and are competent to manage the complexities of this disease.
‘In response to the impending publication of the COPD national strategy, the GPIAG has developed a series of educational resources to assist practitioners to review and develop their skills in COPD management.'
