PCT chief executives to continue to earn £133,000 average

By Neil Durham, 13 October 2009

PCT chief executives should continue to earn an average of £133,294 with no increase in 2010/11, according to DoH evidence.

It says: ‘According to the latest three-month averages, the growth in average earnings in the public sector has moved to 3.4%, this compares to 1.2% in the private sector.

‘Average earnings growth in the private sector is at its lowest rate since the present data series began in 1997 and there are widespread reports of pay freezes.'

The DoH evidence to the Senior Salaries Review Body refers to staff described as ‘Very Senior NHS Managers' in strategic health authorities, PCTs, ambulance trusts and special health authorities. The pay range is £57,923 to £204,048.

This month GP newspaper launched its Rate Your PCT campaign to give you the chance to rate your managers.
