Lib Dems say pharmacists 'well-placed' to take on work

Pharmacists are 'well-placed' to take on the new challenges of government proposals to roll-out new services to community pharmacy, according to Liberal Democrat shadow health secretary Norman Lamb.

Speaking after a visit to a community pharmacy in Mundesley in his North Norfolk constituency, he said: ‘Community pharmacy is an increasingly important resource in advancing primary care services in the UK. I was impressed by the enthusiasm and passion of the staff that I met and the invaluable role they play within the community.
‘Government proposals have outlined the roll-out of new services to community pharmacy. This visit has demonstrated that the profession is well-placed to take on these new challenges.’
Mr Lamb was met by owners Lyndon and Dee Whyatt, as well as superintendent pharmacist Emma Saunders and pharmacist Anne Smith at the Coastal Pharmacy in Mundesley.
