NHS Evidence website launches GP advice

28 April 2009

The NHS Evidence website will launch this week, offering GPs a one-stop shop for advice on a whole range of clinical areas.

The site will allow GPs to identify the best clinical evidence by sorting, sifting and prioritising a range of information. The site will award an accreditation mark to the most reliable and trustworthy sources of guidance.

Dr Gillian Leng, chief operating officer for NHS Evidence, said:  ‘This is just the first stage in the development of an impartial service which will provide the most comprehensive source of relevant and trustworthy information about clinical, non-clinical evidence and best practice, at the touch of a button.’

Professor Lord Ara Darzi, added: ‘NHS Evidence will ensure that whatever you do within the NHS you will always have access so the best information you need to deliver the highest quality care to your patients.’
