Scottish LMCs back incentives to take on partners
12 March 2009
Scottish LMCs today called for incentives for practices to take on partners rather than salaried GPs. By Julie Griffiths.
The Clydebank meeting rejected a call for a debate on adopting a salaried model for general practice in line with the current consultant contract.
The BMA's annual conference of Scottish Local Medical Committees opened with a speech from GPC Scotland chairman Dr Dean Marshall who said GPs must fight to protect QOF from political meddling and keep it evidence based.
Later this morning the LMCs representatives rejected by just two votes a motion to introduce a tax on chocolate.
