DoH hits green targets but GPs need more help
16 March 2007
The DoH is the second greenest government department, a report by the Sustainable Development Commission reveals.
It scored 80 per cent overall in a ratings system that measures performance against agreed waste reduction and other environmentally friendly policies.
The DoH performed well against targets for recycling, reduced water usage and use of renewable energy.
It failed to hit targets for cutting CO2 emissions.
GP leaders say the DoH must do more to incentivise practices to become environmentally aware (GP, 2 March).
