PCT insider reveals all on the impact of the White Paper
25 August 2010
A GP medical director has decided to tell the inside story on life at his crumbling PCT as staff come to terms with their impending doom.
Dr Custodes reveals how he stepped out of general practice to 'do some good' in NHS management and see what it was like to wear a suit.
But he was quickly sidelined as ‘another one of those doctor types’ and spent most of his days shredding NICE guidance.
In his first weekly report from the Black Tower, Dr Custodes observes a new appreciation of his sense of humour since Silver Fox Lansley announced that GPs were the answer to everything.
But he also sees an emptiness in the eyes of his colleagues, as hollow as their laughter. Having spent the past 20 years treating the walking wounded, he now has to work with the living dead.
