Starring role for Professor David Haslam at RCGP conference
09 August 2010
Former president and chairman of the RCGP Professor David Haslam (pictured) will be taking a high-profile role in this year's RCGP annual conference.
Many delegates at the Glasgow event last year will remember his thought-provoking opening speech, later followed by a revealing Desert Island Discs session.
This year Professor Haslam will join Dr Roger Neighbour to reflect on their inspirational careers, from ‘the inner consultation to the realms of holistic medicine’.
Professor Haslam will also be chairing a session on the quality of long-term care with Professor Nigel Mathers, Professor of Primary Care at the University of Sheffield.
They will review the attitudes, skills and competencies that GPs need to use within routine consultations to support the self-management of patients with long-term conditions.
